Why do pro-life people think it’d be okay to force their own mothers to carry them to term?

Sure, my mom chose to give birth to me and keep me, but if she didn’t for whatever reason, it wouldn’t be up to me to make that choice for her. I wouldn’t have the right to take nutrients from her body without her wanting it. It’d be cruel if I were to force her to carry me to term just because “ZOMG I WANTZ TA LIIIVE!!!1!” because being pregnant is a goddamn pain in the ass. It’s not just a minor inconvenience like most pro-lifers like to act like it is and I wouldn’t want to put my mother through that if she didn’t want it.

Also, if you were the baby and your mother aborted you, you wouldn’t know, and you wouldn’t care. 

I have told my mother truthfully, and straight to her face, that had so decided that she needed to abort her pregnancy when she was carrying me that I would NOT have held it against her.

You’re going to hate your mother over some BS like that?

Because she isn’t ready and you just want to FORCE your way through? If your love is THAT conditional you can have a seat.

I remember Paul Mooney talking about how badly it portrayed black men and I’m thinking, there are women in my life who have gotten black eyes, busted lips, cut with knives, and even murdered by the men in their lives. Are we supposed to silently be their punchingbag because they’re treated like shit by society?

honestly, this is exactly what the want us to do.

we must only talk about racism against Black people as racism against Black men. this is why black feminists are considered what is ruining the black community and these misogynists name femminization as a problem within our community, because femininity is evil in their eyes.

we are not supposed to talk about black men beating us or r*ping us. we are only suposed to talk about white men doing this. because white men have done it to black men. white women have to. but black women must man the house and hold all the pain of the man down to keep the community moving. we must hold everything on our back, as the mules of our community they view us as, and keep silent and not talk about it.

supposedly if we eradicate white supremacy these problems will disappear to these men. but they wont address patriarchy and misogyny. they wont address the ways theyve victimized us as victim of abuse as well. sometimes i think oppressed people have a harder time hearing they can be oppressive too than non-oppressed people. because they know the pain of oppression.

i didn’t know paul mooney said that. disappointing. alice walker likely still receives letters from angry black men to this day. and the women who wanted her to shut up didnt want the secret to be out. i dont blame them. all that fear of the white gaze and knowing what they can do to us, why should we let them know when they don’t care? but we have to shrug off the white gaze and focus on what is going on with us and how we survive and how we are hindered from surviving. white people do not look at us as human. them finding out this problem will just be another excuse to keep up that lie. 

i just went on a big rant to basically say you are 100% right and its fucked up and thats exactly how i feel when i see those types of reactions.

How’s the saying go? Black men don’t actually want to end oppression, they’d rather replace white men as far as power positions are concerned.
